Harlem Globetrotter Teams Up with
Breakaway
February 2006
Former Harlem Globetrotter Seth Franco teamed
up with Breakaway for the South Florida Skillz 4 Life outreach
tour. The Skillz 4 Life tour is an evangelistic campaign
taking the life-changing message of Jesus Christ to young
people through juvenile detention center services, school
assemblies, community-wide sports outreaches, and multimedia
presentations.
Seth Franco has performed internationally
in ten countries, played for the Court Jesters, the Harlem
Wizards, and the Harlem Globetrotters. He was the first
Caucasian Globetrotter since 1942. After touring the United
States and Europe with the Harlem Globetrotters, Seth made
the decision to stop playing professional basketball and
pursue ministry full-time. Since then he has performed and
shared his personal testimony of his relationship with Jesus
Christ to kids, teenagers, and adults all over the country.
The Skillz 4 Life tour came to South Florida,
February 6-9, 2006, providing outreach services for schools,
youth groups, and every juvenile facility in Palm Beach,
Martin, and Okeechobee Counties. Seth performed his ball-handling
skills choreographed to music, followed by a clear presentation
of the Gospel. Over 200 youths made professions of faith
in Christ during the tour.
In conjunction with the crusade, Breakaway
provided a training workshop in West Palm Beach for volunteers
who had a desire to serve as mentors in South Florida juvenile
programs. Breakaway's Florida outreach coordinator, Kevin
Brown, will continue to extend follow-up efforts in the
area and has already baptized some of the youths at one
juvenile facility.
Seth Franco has also worked with the following
Christian organizations...
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)
Upward Basketball
Youth With A Mission (YWAM)
Impact World Tour
Youth For Christ (YFC)
One For His Kingdom
Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN)
